Omaha Trip
We went to Omaha last weekend to celebrate Kaitlyn, Ashley, and Mason's birthdays. While there, we hit the zoo and also hung out with the people we met in Jamaica. I failed to get my camera out half the trip...so I'll post the rest when I get them from Katie!
Kaitlyn and Owen buckeled in a ready for the zoo!

The polar bear was my favorite!

Madison looks like she is posing with a couple monkeys from the jungle. I think the heat was getting to Scott and I!

Reading books with Ashley and Owen.

Spring Fun
We got a dog on Thursday. He was dumped at Val's house (the groomer that works at Scott's clinic). Scott thinks he's about 8 years old...which is great for us. He doesn't jump, bark, or scratch at the door. He loves to go swimming in the creek and chase rabbits out of the yard. We call him Barney...but mostly Madison calls him, "Dog."

Another shot of Barney. He hasn't been on a leash since we brought him home and he is still here every morning!

Playing on the glider...her favorite!

All dressed up for church this morning. Thanks to Wren VanCleave for the great dress!

Learning

Madison loves to count to 10 and is getting better at it every day. Her personality is really blossoming as well.

It takes a little imagination to call this the alphabet, but we are proud of her nonetheless. And yes, "W" is "ducky" in case you were wondering!

Putting on a Show

Counting again...sometimes she makes it past two and when she does, as you can tell, we are very proud of her and she is also very proud of herself! She also learned that the digital camera has a screen on the back.

Madison is a big fan of "This little piggy..." When playing, she says, "Piggy not." We don't know why, but it sure is cute!

Damn Duck!
Well, if you don't already know, Madison had pink eye last week. I took her to the doctor Wednesday and she called in some drops to the pharmacy. We headed downtown to pick them up and had to kill a few minutes while they filled the prescription. We are not strangers to the pharmacy as Madison is a walking germ incubator...but usually we don't have to wait. Anyway, while we were making a few laps round the store, I turned my attention away from Madison for .025 seconds. During that brief time, she managed to break the leg off this stupid looking duck. I was not too mad at her because I knew it was my fault for looking away. Then, I picked up the broken-off leg and checked the price. $24.99!!!! What!!! Now I was pissed. Who would pay $25 for this ugly, ridiculously fragile duck? The answer is...me.

So the leg is glued on because I couldn't throw the damn thing away. I think I'll take it to the consignment store if the glued leg holds. I'm sure that all the other ugly ducks at the pharmacy are probably on the clearance table right now marked down to $5. Of course she couldn't have broken anything that was half price!

Prescription for pink eye: $8
Ugliest duck in the world: $25
Learning that shopping with a toddler is extremely dangerous and potentially expensive: Priceless

Growing Up
Madison helped me make a cake...or just slapped the mixer with a rubber spatula.

In my shoes. You know, there is a 50% chance of putting shoes on the wrong feet, but somehow Madison has them on this way 95% of the time.

Playing in Ozzy's water bowl. At least she didn't eat the food...I think.

When I asked her what she was doing, she said, "wash the hands."

Someone needs some new jammies.
